I am a Chartered Accountant (CA). I also have a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
I’ve been fortunate to work in large and medium-sized accounting firms and am now proud to be a partner at Shajani LLP. This firm allows me to bring forth ambition and ideas that provide the utmost advantage to my clients.
My experiences have allowed me to gain the skills to analyze financial statements and business processes. I’ve been involved in many areas of public accounting including audits, reviews and notices to readers for both public and private entities. I’ve also enjoyed providing consulting and tax-planning advisory services that include preparation of documents for court proceedings and dispute resolutions, corporate reorganizations and the development and enhancement of business processes.
While working with one of the Big Four, where I spent most of my articling time, I gained experience in public company audits and completed the CA School of Business modules. I then moved on to a mid-sized accounting firm, continuing to work with public company audits, and branched out to tax, reviews and other engagement. But it’s here, at Shajani, where I found my passion in higher-level accounting. I strive to bring this passion to work with me every day. My completion of an M.B.A. from the University of Liverpool, specializing in Accounting and Finance, has allowed me to provide consulting services at a preeminent level.
Giving back to my community is also important to me. I’ve been a member of the taxation and finance committee of our local Chamber of Commerce where I’m able to provide insight and drafts at the grassroots level for the Chamber’s policies in this area. I’ve also taken on the role of a facilitator at the CA School of Business where I provided online instructor services to CA students.
My bio would not be complete without mentioning my wonderful wife Zahra, and two kids, Shaheena and Rahmaan. Each of them brings me joy and when I am not with them, or working, teaching, or studying, I enjoy playing a round of golf and traveling.
